The world’s earliest illustrated Christian book has been saved by a British charity which located it at a remote Ethiopian monastery. The incredible Garima Gospels are named after a monk who arrived in the African country in the fifth century and is said to have copied them out in just one day. Beautifully illustrated, the colours are still vivid and thanks to the Ethiopian Heritage Fund have been conserved. Several churches and hotels were targeted by explosions in Colombo, Sri Lanka, just as Christians began the Easter celebrations, police confirmed to the local media. Explosions were reported during the Easter celebrations at St Anthony's Church in Colombo and another church in Katuwapitiya, Katana, just outside the capital. The explosions seem to have been coordinated, as both took place around 8:45 a.m. local time.
As the cathedral of Notre Dame collapsed overwhelmed by flames, a strange event occurred in the upper part of the cathedral, right before the eyes of millions of viewers. A mysterious figure materialized dressed very much like a Templar Knight in a white turban which was in use in the Middle Eastern commanderies of the Knights Templars in the XIII century. Pope Francis remained silent during the fire of Notre Dame Cathedral, and spoke for the first time about the tragedy the following morning.
